   The original estate that sat on this land was built for Dr. and Mrs. Omar Fareed by a famous architect. It was designed to flow with the grading of the land. It really was fantastic and innovating. The master suite was on the top level, but you didn’t have to go down stairs to reach the backyard. The way the house was built beside the hill you only needed to walk out the sliding glass door of the master suite and you were in the backyard..
   Almost every famous tennis pro in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s played tennis on the tennis court there. I even learned to play tennis on that court. DR. FAREED was the United States Davis Cup team physician.
   It’s very sad to see another monstrosity built on a piece of land that once housed a very unique and famous estate. A part of Los Angeles history has been lost. 😔 I have pictures of the house, etc. so I at least can still see this wonderful house.
   When are people going to stop building impersonal houses that are far too big to enjoy. As I can see the house has not been sold since being on the market since 2017? It’s not clear about being leased. Over time the asking price has been lowered several times. This might have something to do with tearing down the original estate. The neighborhood was quite fond of Dr.Fareed, he and his wife started ‘The Carr Foundation’ which is still an active Foundation helping millions of people. If you want to know more about Dr. Omar Fareed, just type his name on Google. There is also information about his son, Dr. George Fareed, who is continuing his father’s legacy in his own right.
