Tom Cruise has played the role of Maverick in the “Top Gun” movie franchise. The film is based on a novel written by author Jim Cashman.
The film is about a naval aviator named Pete “Maverick” Mitchell who is assigned to an elite fighter squadron and who later becomes an instructor at the Navy’s Fighter Weapons School.
Locations for the movie were shot in the state of California with filming beginning in May of 2018 to April 2019.
