127 hours is a 2010 American survival drama film directed by Danny Boyle. It is based on the book Between a Rock and a Hard Place by Aron Ralston, who was the protagonist of the real-life event.
The film’s story revolves around an outdoor enthusiast and hiker, Aron Ralston (played by James Franco), who became trapped by a boulder in an isolated slot canyon in Blue John Canyon in the eastern part of Utah for five day and seven hours. In order to escape, Aron had to amputate his right arm in order to free himself.
