The Ronnie Barker statue located outside Aylesbury Waterside Theatre in 2010, depicting the comedian in his role as Norman Stanley Fletcher from Porridge. You can visit the actual prison seen in the series which is HMP Chelmsford, Springfield Park Hill, Chelmsford.

Ronnie sadly passed away on the 3rd October 2005, of congestive heart failure.

Childhood Home

You may also want to visit Ronnie’s childhood home located in Bedford. You will notice a round, black plaque located between the front door and the living room window that reads: “Ronnie Barker Comedian born here on 25 Sept. 1929”.
