The third installment of the Jackass series was filmed over a two-month period. It is also the first film in the series to be released in 3D. Johnny Knoxville reprised his role as Johnny Knoxville, while Steve-O and Bam Margera returned as well. The movie was filmed from January to March 2010 in and around the California state, and an estimated budget of $20 million.
The film was released on October 15, 2010, with a release for 3D versions scheduled for November 2010.
