Are both the entrance hall and the apartment located in this building or was it used as a reference and filmed somewhere else? I love the apartment interior, especially the prewar bathroom style. How hard it is to find an apartment exactly like this one in NYC?
From my research I believe the apartment was a set created inside Albuquerque Studios – as listed on the IMDb website.
Hope this helps Pat
Thanks for your fast reply. I’ve seen similar interior design before, can’t remember where tho… Would love an apartment exactly like this one! Once again, thanks for your help.

No problem, glad I could be of help.

Hey Jake! Thanks for your time! The video was indeed of great help… in a wrong but good way! 🙂
It made me want to find a “that” apartment more badly than before! The “Single White Female” apartment at The Ansonia would make me happy too! Unfortunately people prefer to remodel prewar apartments instead of restoring them…
I’m glad i found this page… and it’s funny ’cause the day before this post i spent hours searching for the exact location, and a few hours later, here it is!
Thanks once again,
Pat
ahh ok. I agree, the apartments need to be maintained rather than remodeled, it’s makes them so much more interesting… and cosy. I’m glad I can help, always happy to do so.
Haha phew! The site will eventually be full of every location possible so I look forward to helping you and many others that visit the site 🙂
Have a great day!
Jake
Hey! I was thinking… maybe you could use the 1992 “Single White Female” for a movie location post. The search got no results and The Ansonia is an amazing building! 🙂
I wish there was a site about movie sets, so i could know where the interiors got the inspiration from.
Have a Great Day!
Pat
I had that one in mind after you mentioned it, It’s definitely needed for the site. This website https://hookedonhouses.net elaborates more on movie homes which I think you will love! 🙂
Thank you! The site is great and almost what i need! :p Too bad The Resident is not listed… 🙂
I didn’t have to take the quiz to know if I’m hooked on houses… I definitely am! 🙂 And to prove it, two movies immediately popped into my mind! Here are the links in case you want to post them in the future:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0339291/
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098453/
The second one, Madame Serena’s house is my type of house… before being renovated at the end of the movie, of course! 😉
Thank you again!
Pat
